President of Wonderland
As the President of Production at Wonderland Sound And Vision, Mary is responsible for building, overseeing, and producing the company’s feature and television slate.
She most recently produced the hit comedy I FEEL PRETTY starring Amy Schumer, which Voltage and STX released in May 2018. Prior to that she produced the two successful Netflix films THE BABYSITTER, with New Line Cinema, and WHEN WE FIRST MET starring Adam Devine & Alexandra Daddario.
Prior to these Netflix endeavors, Viola produced the 2015 breakout comedy THE DUFF starring Mae Whitman, Bella Thorne, and Ken Jeong for Lionsgate/CBS Films. Other films she produced for Wonderland include PLAYING IT COOL starring Chris Evans and Michelle Monaghan, as well as Chris Evans’ directorial debut BEFORE WE GO in which Evans stars alongside Alice Eve.
Her feature development slate includes projects such as Disney‘s TINK starring Elizabeth Banks, Fox’s RUIN to be directed by Wes Ball (THE MAZE RUNNER), and the Shel Silverstein biopic with James Franco attached to star. Franco will also be directing the film, which is being financed by Madison Wells Media.
On the television side, Viola is developing the remake of “True Lies” along with James Cameron for 20th Century Fox. She also executive produces the ABC/Freeform series “Shadowhunters,” currently in its third season. Other active Wonderland shows include “Supernatural” which is in its 13th season on the CW and “Lethal Weapon,” which is in its third season on Fox. Viola also previously executive produced “Kevin from Work” for ABC. In addition to overseeing film and television, Mary is also responsible for producing WB’s award winning online series Aim High 1 & 2.
Mary began her career working for director/producer Barry Sonnenfeld (MEN IN BLACK). She then spent three years in Jerry Bruckheimer's development department working on films such as PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and NATIONAL TREASURE before leaving to become the film executive at Thunder Road Pictures where she produced BROOKLYN’S FINEST and WE ARE MARSHALL. It was on set of the football drama where she first met prolific filmmaker and Wonderland founder McG.
